Dogs requiring re-homing

Margaret has been notified that there is a 10 month old Orange/white Brittany dog called Al looking for a home. He is held by Many Tears Dog Rescue, Carmarthenshire Tel 01269 843084 or email at sw.vanatta@virgin.net. Address: Many Tears Animal Rescue, Cwmlogin House, Cefniethin, Llanelli, Camarthenshire, SA14 7H. The dog will not be released to us as they have to cover their costs and do all necessary home checks etc so please contact them direct.

We have been notified of a 9 year old Brittany called Lucy who is currently at Happy Landings Animal Shelter in Shepton Mallet.

Lucy is a really lovely 9 year old, spayed Brittany Spaniel. She has been brought into us with her companion dog Tilly as a change in her family`s circumstances mean that the dogs can no longer be cared for properly. Lucy is a smashing people person, loves attention, long walkies and play. If she can possibly get away with it she loves to be a lap dog and will happily sit on your knee for cuddles! She has been used to visiting children of 10 years plus and loves the extra attention she can get from them. Although she has been used to living with Tilly we have fully assessed the girls and they do not have to stay together...we rather suspect that Tilly would love to be an only dog so that all the attention is hers, and then have doggy friends that she can meet. Lucy has had full training and is great at most things - apart from recall! She is a good traveller so can go everywhere with you but does not mind being left for a few hours when this isn`t practical.

Full Contact & Rehoming details can be found on their website

We are a small club with limited funds and as such would welcome a voluntary donation when the need arises to take on and book a Brittany into kennelling straight away. We do not always have potential owners on our books and we are careful to match new owner to new dog. We try whenever possible to do a home check with the new owners fairly quickly.

If you need to part with your dog, please bear in mind it takes time to arrange transport and kennels/fostering. If available, please give the name of the dog's breeder, as well as all important details such as vaccinations, pedigree, and all behaviour characteristics. This is to try to avoid any problems with the transfer. We hope the responsible breeder or stud dog owner will take back/help with the dog they sell to you.

Thank you to all the wonderful people who have adopted dogs in the past through the scheme. Your donations help pay for kennelling and vet fees whilst between homes. It should be noted that we can only do our best to assist in re-homing. We do not have Club kennels and rely on the generosity of foster homes and reduced rate kennels help. If you need to find a new home for your dog please be prepared to give us plenty of time to find one. We cannot work miracles this week (perhaps next week ..............) Please support our rescue fund. It has been hit hard in the last few years with kennelling and vet fees.

New adopters:

We normally require a donation for a Brittany in line with other organisations

Please be aware we rely on your generosity to pay for large vet bills, kennelling etc...

We have a back up service if there are any questions. We will try to help if needed.

We will send someone whenever possible to do a home check

Please keep checking the web site as this will be updated as to which animals become available with their details and photos.

Please let the co-ordinator know if you no longer want a Rescue Brittany or have taken on another breed.

Thank you.
