These are held by various H.P.R. clubs during the early Spring
(March/April), where dogs are expected to quarter ground, find
and point game. Junior dogs can be graded on Pheasant and/or
Partridge, but older dogs can only be graded on Partridge.
Judges are looking for natural game-finding ability and dogs
are graded accordingly.
Good, Very Good, or Excellent.
These tests are not, as yet, under the auspices of the Kennel
Club, and there is no winner - only graded dogs.
They are great fun, and the only criteria is to be able to bring
your dog back on command, to prevent it disappearing over the
horizon.
